Dr. Mi Hae Kim is a postdoctoral fellow, who received her Psy.D. from the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University. Prior to moving to Texas, Dr. Kim practiced as a clinical psychologist with certification in school psychology in the state of Pennsylvania. She worked with children/families in the foster care system, completed psychoeducational evaluations for public/charter schools, and provided psychotherapy for nursing home residents. During her postdoctoral residency at a Philadelphia community behavioral health center, Dr. Kim served traumatized clients who often had forensic and dual diagnoses backgrounds. Through her predoctoral internship, Dr. Kim is also experienced in treating eating disorders, and assessing a broad range of developmental and acquired conditions (e.g., ADHD, learning disorders).
Dr. Kim draws on her experience to offer individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, family therapy, and assessment services for all ages. Dr. Kim operates from a systems-based perspective, addresses client-specific needs by utilizing an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and cognitive behavioral therapies for healing and growth. Dr. Kim is passionate about helping families work through cross-cultural/intergenerational issues and is available for faith-based therapy needs.
